Anderson Engineering recently built and installed a much needed shelter for the primary school children of Maqongqo Primary School in Table Mountain, on the outskirts of Pietermaritzburg in KZN.
Following the installation, the principal of the school, Mr Michael Zondi, arranged a special day for the formal handover of the shelter. The Anderson Engineering team were invited to join a school assembly where teachers and some parents from the Student Governing Body were present.
The students treated the Anderson staff present with some very heart-warming singing and two of the pupils thanked Anderson Engineering on behalf of all the pupils. They spoke sincerely about how much of a difference the shelter will make for them. Mr Zondi addressed all present thanking Anderson Engineering for our generosity and assistance. A highlight for the students was a short motivational message by Craig Stieger, Anderson Engineering Factory Manager. He shared a short motivational message of hope and encouraged the students (and teachers) to be disciplined in their journey towards the future, starting with the simple things, such as respecting the school and each other’s property.
Pictured here at the handover are Hennie de Jager (Managing Director), Craig Stieger (Factory Manager) and Andrew Charters (Engineering Design Manager) of Anderson Engineering together with Mr Michael Zondi (Principal of Maqongqo Primary School) and other staff, students and governing body members, during the formal handover of the shelter to the school.
Maqongqo Primary School is in need of financial assistance. Should anyone want to support this school please get in touch with us on mail@andersoneng.co.za and we will facilitate an introduction to the school and Mr Zondi.
