As part of Anderson Engineering’s 60 year business anniversary, the company held a fun-filled family day for all employees and their loved ones on Sunday the 1 July 2018.
The day was all about celebrating the longevity of the business and all who have contributed to this journey. The day was also of great significance as it welcomed the new Managing Director, Hennie de Jager to the business. A great deal of respect and acknowledgment was made to all the previous owners of the business for their input in making Anderson Engineering the business it is today, but the particular focus was on Hans, and his enormous contribution to the business in his 22 years at the helm.
The theme for the day was “Happy and Fun” with the day certainly living up to this idea. Staff and their families participated in a soccer match, competed against each other in a gladiator course, and enjoyed a wonderful sit-down lunch at The Breeze Inn venue, just outside of Pietermaritzburg and near to the Anderson Engineering offices. Many photos of various projects, clients, and team members were shared on a slideshow allowing everyone to reminisce over many projects and memories, shared over the years. A fantastic guest speaker and MC, Melisizwe Mtshali charismatically carried the event through and reminded everyone of the major importance of teamwork, in ensuring companies with great legacies such as Anderson Engineering, continue to thrive.
Hans Coertse was presented with a custom-made stainless steel trophy, handmade by his team, to mark the 60-year milestone, as well as a framed message board, with personal messages from everyone in the company. His closing words to the company emulated his excitement and positivity for the future of Anderson Engineering as he sees a very young team with great talent and professionalism to take the company forward for another 60 years.
Anderson would like to thank all staff and their families, and the guests that joined them, for a truly wonderful celebration of the company’s diamond anniversary.
